VABAW’s Student Liaisons
Lucien Nguyen, GONzaga University Law
Lucien Nguyen is a law student at Gonzaga Law. At school, he served as a 1L Representative for the Asian Pacific Islander Law Caucus, helping to build a diverse community of students. Outside of school, he likes singing and playing guitar! Lucien is a big fan of The Beatles. He is excited to be a part of VABAW and looks forward to connecting with the Vietnamese American legal community.
Isabel Dorn, Seattle University Law
Isabel is a rising 2L at Seattle University School of Law. As the daughter of a Vietnamese war refugee, she is passionate about supporting immigrants’ rights and empowering communities of color. She currently serves as co-director of the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) chapter at SU and a board member for the Asian Law Students Association (ALSA).
This summer, Isabel will join Disability Rights Washington as a legal intern. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she holds bachelor’s degrees in government, English, and Russian studies from Lawrence University.
Outside of law school, she enjoys thrifting, crocheting, and writing poetry.
Tan Vu, seattle University law
Tan is a Pennsylvania native and rising 3L at Seattle University School of Law. He serves as the President of both the Fashion and Art Law Society and Intellectual Property Law Society.
Since arriving at Seattle University, Tan has been actively involved with several organizations and pro bono clinics, including Asian Bar Association of Washington (ABAW), where he co-moderated a panel, and VABAW. He is also a proud member of the National Conference of Vietnamese American Attorneys (NCVAA).
Tan is pursuing a career in intellectual property law that stems from his love of video games and comic books. Alongside his presidencies, he demonstrates this interest through his role as a research assistant for Professor Margaret Chon and his participation in the 2026 Video Game Bar Association David S. Rosenbaum Writing Competition where he wrote on the topic of Child Safety in Video Games with a paper titled "Child Video Game Safety Without Privacy Violations."
When he's not doing schoolwork and if he had time for it, Tan would love to play video games and the One Piece Trading Card Game at a local card shop. He does have time for going to the gym and reading both manga and comic books. For manga, his favorite series are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Baki, and One Piece. For comic books, he is a huge fan of Spider-Man, Batman, and the Flash.
